Okay, here’s the super-nerdy stuff…

Whey Protein Sourcing:  We only use Grass Fed Whey Protein. The cattle is known to be unexposed to any and all pesticides, herbicides or any other chemical aerosols. Furthermore, they are not injected with hormones or antibiotics to further ensure purity of the raw milk. It is also known that healthy grass fed whey protein is the lowest available in heavy metals, thus, more healthy. Our source, in particular, allows their cattle to roam free in a safe environment so they may consume the 27 different grasses and herbs that are plentiful in their pastures. 

We only use Cold Membrane Pressing for whey extraction.

Whey Protein Extraction (this is to separate the whey from the casein and lactose):

1. Chemical Extraction or Ion Exchange: This is a process by which hydrochloric acid and chemical reagent sodium  hydroxide is added to the wet-whey to trigger the pH adjustment needed for the protein release. This denatures the protein. (Yuck)

2. Cold Membrane Pressing:  This method involves mesh screens and is solely mechanical. Micro-filtration does not include changing the properties of the whey solution on a molecular level by any means, nor does it involve mixing any chemicals with the whey protein through the process. The process pressurizes liquid whey across a series of membranes designed to allow only specific micro-sized nutrients and smaller through, while particles more significant in size (fats, sugars, carbs) are filtered out. Cold filtering is undoubtedly the preferred method by most and is the most risk-averse, less prone to human errors or mistakes.

Pasteurization Process- what is optimal and safe?

For optimal quality we use only Vat Pasteurization or HTST (High Temperature, Short Time). Alternative methods like HHST (Higher Heat, Short Time) or UP (Ultra Pasteurization) {in excess of 280 deg} allows faster processing speeds but nets a lower quality product afterward. Quote: “brands are incentivized to optimize their liability (reduce) at the expense of the nutrition content of their products”. 

Whey Protein Benefits: For muscle growth, whey protein has been shown to be slightly better compared to other types of protein, such as casein or soy.

Returns Policy

You may return most new, unopened items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. We'll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.).

You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of giving your package to the return shipper, however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (3 to 5 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days).
